The Funeral Portrait

The Funeral Portrait are playing Puzzles Deep Ellum on Tuesday, October 27, with PINKNOISE opening. It's a mid-week show in Deep Ellum, so if you're coming from work, you've got a little time to get settled before things kick off.

For those who aren't familiar, The Funeral Portrait formed in Atlanta back in 2014. Their first full-length album, Greetings from Suffocate City, came out through Better Noise Music and pulled in some guest spots that might ring a bell if you've spent any time in the scene: Bert McCracken of The Used features on "You're So Ugly When You Cry," and Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills is on the title track. Other songs from that record include "Alien" and "Voodoo Doll."

The band has a dedicated following they call The Coffin Crew, a fandom they compare to AFI's Despair Faction, the MCRmy, the BVB Army, and Ice Nine Kills' Psychos. The current lineup is Cody Weissinger, Robert Weston, Lee Jennings, and Homer Umbanhowar.

With PINKNOISE opening, it's two bands on the bill. The show starts at 7 PM at Puzzles Deep Ellum, 2824 Main St, Dallas, TX 75226.
