Cajun blues musician Tab Benoit performs live with special guest Jesse Dayton at the Longhorn Ballroom.
Tab Benoit plays the Longhorn Ballroom on Thursday, November 19, with Jesse Dayton opening. Benoit is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who's spent more than 30 years in the gritty, soulful Delta swamp blues that his Louisiana roots suggest. He's a four-time Grammy nominee and has picked up five Blues Music Awards along the way, including being named B.B. King Entertainer of the Year twice. He's also been inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
His career has seen some long gaps. After a 13-year sabbatical, he returned with I Hear Thunder on Whiskey Bayou Records, which became his first number one on the Billboard charts in over three decades. In 2013, he recorded Medicine with Anders Osborne, an album that went on to win three Blues Music Awards. He's played and recorded with a long list of names—Junior Wells, George Porter Jr., Dr. John, Willie Nelson, Billy Joe Shaver, and Maria Muldaur, among many others.
