Live music performance by Scarlett Deering at the Ziegenbock Stage on the State Fair of Texas grounds.
Scarlett Deering plays the State Fair of Texas on Wednesday, October 7, at the Ziegenbock Stage. It's a solo set, and it's part of the fair's 2026 music lineup, which runs from September 25 to October 18 across three stages with more than 100 artists.
Deering is a Dallas musician who mixes her classical violin training with punk and indie rock. She describes the result as lush arrangements, layered pop vocals, and whimsical string parts. She started playing violin at age three and graduated about twenty years later from Berklee College of Music. After touring with the band Seryn and spending time in Nashville, she returned to Dallas in early 2018 to co-manage a recording studio with her father, Milo Deering.
She's also a working musician in other contexts. She plays fiddle for Texas singer-songwriter Zane Williams and tours as a violinist in the Eagles' string quintet. Outside of music, she works as a jeweler and seamstress, sewing for TV and film art departments—including ABC's Nashville—and customizing merchandise for Third Man Records and CMT.
