Indie rock band Role Model performs with support from indie-folk artist SAMIA, who is promoting her album 'Bloodless'.
SAMIA plays The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory on Friday, October 9, as the opening act for Role Model. It's part of a US run that puts the New York indie-folk and indie-pop artist in front of a new crowd, and the set will center on her 2025 album, Bloodless.
Bloodless takes its starting point from bovine excision—the strange phenomenon of cattle being found with precise pieces of skin removed—which inspired the album's opening track. She recorded it in North Carolina and Minneapolis with Caleb Wright of The Happy Children and Jake Luppen of Hippo Campus, and the record features the artist Raffaella. It's her third full-length, following her 2020 debut The Baby, which arrived as a confessional coming-of-age record, and 2023's Honey.
Samia has been moving into larger rooms lately. Her NPR Tiny Desk concert went mega-viral, and she made her Coachella debut earlier this spring. She's spent time opening for Maggie Rogers, Lucy Dacus, and Courtney Barnett, and has passed 150 million streams. This tour sees her as US support for Role Model, and she's already booked as support for Gracie Abrams' UK and European run in April and May 2027.
