A live set of independent folk and singer-songwriter sounds featuring Austin-based folk musician Rita Bliss and Texas singer-songwriter HalleyAnna Finlay.
Rita Bliss plays Opening Bell Coffee on Thursday, October 15, as part of her touring schedule. She's an Austin-based folk musician who describes her songs as capturing moments, memories and conversations. A Rust Belt native, she roots her melodies in the old-time banjo sounds of Appalachia and sings them with a vaguely upstate New York accent.
She's not playing alone. Joining her is HalleyAnna Finlay, a Texas-born singer-songwriter who writes about the places close to her heart, local legends, rainy nights and the occasional heartbreak. The night is billed as a live set of independent folk and singer-songwriter sounds, so you'll get two different voices on one bill.
Opening Bell Coffee presents itself as Dallas' best acoustic live music venue and coffee bar. It runs from the basement of the South Side on Lamar Lofts, the city's historic Sears Roebuck Building, just south of I-30 between the Dallas Convention Center and the Jack Evans Police Headquarters. They have live music most nights alongside coffee, tea and local food, and parking is free.
