Country music legend Randy Travis performs his hits with James Dupré on the More Life Tour, with a special appearance by Travis.
Randy Travis is coming to The Longhorn Ballroom on Thursday, October 15, as part of the More Life Tour. It's a country music tribute concert, and the way it's set up is a bit different from your usual night out. Guest vocalist James Dupré fronts the show, backed by Travis's long-time touring band, and Randy Travis himself makes a special appearance.
If you're not familiar with the backstory, it helps explain the format. Randy Travisâborn Randy Bruce Traywick in 1959âis a Grand Ole Opry star and Country Music Hall of Fame member who helped lead the new traditionalist movement in country music in the late 1980s. He signed with Warner Brothers Records in 1985 and went on to rack up 22 number-one hits, six number-one albums, five Grammys, six CMA Awards, nine ACM Awards, ten AMA Awards, six Dove Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His song "Three Wooden Crosses" won the 2003 CMA for Song of the Year and remains the only song from a Christian label to reach number one on the country charts.
A stroke in 2013 took away his singing voice, but he returned to the road with his long-time touring band and released two new songs, "Where That Came From" and "Horses in Heaven," created with advanced technology. James Dupré was handpicked by Randy and Mary Travis in 2019 to front the show, which is now on its final dates after more than 54 cities and 24 states.

So the night is built around Dupré performing Travis's hits with the band that's been with him for years, with Travis appearing on stage. It's a way to hear those songs live even when the voice that made them famous isn't the one leading the set. The show is at The Longhorn Ballroom, 216 Corinth Street, Dallas, TX 75207, on Thursday, October 15. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the show starts at 8:00 PM.
