A weekend plant convention featuring a market with 200 booths, seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and a children's area for plant lovers.
PlantCon Dallas takes over Exhibit Hall C at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25, from 10 AM to 6 PM. It's a full weekend for anyone who spends their free time tending to houseplants, hunting for rare cuttings, or just talking shop with other growers. The whole thing is run by PlantCon International, a non-profit that started as a small digital plant group and grew into a full-scale convention that brings together plant lovers from all over.
The center of the weekend is a plant market with around 200 booths, with sellers coming in from across the globe. Beyond the shopping, there are seminars and workshops led by field experts, exhibitions from some of the plant world's leading brands, and meet-and-greets. You'll also find a children's area, dedicated spaces for local plant societies, competitions, a silent auction, and a scavenger hunt. Graylen Brown of Urban Gardening with Gray and Britt Parrish, creator of BotanicallyBe, are among the featured guests.
PlantCon is LGBTQIA+ run and led, and they've built in a few thoughtful touches: ASL interpreters are provided at presentations and workshops, and the venues are accessible. They encourage visitors to meet one another at the workshops, presentations, and parties throughout the weekend, so it's as much about the community as it is about the plants.
