A Texas Country and Red Dirt concert featuring the Logan Ryan Band with special guest Jon Kott Band at the historic Longhorn Ballroom.
Logan Ryan Band plays the Longhorn Ballroom & Backyard Amphitheater on Friday, October 30, with the Jon Kott Band as special guest. It's a full-band night for them, and they're coming in from Gonzales, Texas.
Logan Ryan Skloss leads the group, and the sound sits right in that Texas Country, Red Dirt, and Americana pocket. He's been at this since he was a kid—picking up the guitar at nine and writing songs by eleven—and the songwriting is where the band lives. He describes it as raw storytelling, and you can hear the influences he lists: Joe Walsh and The Band on one end, Robert Earl Keen and Charlie Robison on the other. It's a mix that pulls from classic rock and the Texas songwriting tradition.
Two songs have become staples for the band: "Signed, Love Wynonna" and the breakout "Tecovas," both of which helped them find their footing in the Red Dirt scene. Their debut album, Kamikaze (The Album), is out now, so there's a full record to draw from. On stage, Skloss is backed by David Elder, Garret McKinley, Avery Castro, and Elan Sealy.

The venue is the Longhorn Ballroom, a historic spot that's been restored into a state-of-the-art music room and flexible event space about a mile from the Dallas Convention Center. It holds more than 2,000 people inside and several thousand more outdoors, so it's a big room for a Texas Country night. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the show starts at 7 PM.
