Guided foodie hop through Dallas' Little Mexico neighborhood and Arts District with Tex-Mex tastings and narrated sightseeing.
Food Tours of America is running its Little Mexico and Arts District Foodie Hop this Friday, October 16, starting at El Fenix. It's a guided walk through two of downtown's most distinct neighborhoods—Little Mexico and the Arts District—that pairs Tex-Mex tastings with narrated sightseeing. The whole thing runs from 12 PM to 2:30 PM, so it's a long lunch that doubles as a tour.
The hop kicks off at El Fenix, a Dallas institution that dates back to 1918 and is often credited with popularizing Tex-Mex across the state. From there, the group moves to Meso Maya Comida y Copas, known for scratch-made Oaxacan and Mexico City-style dishes, and then to Taqueria La Ventana, famous for its open-air vibe and house-made churros. Between the stops, you'll walk through the nation's largest contiguous arts district, passing Klyde Warren Park, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Nasher Sculpture Center. The food is the main draw, but the route takes you past some of the city's biggest cultural landmarks.
