Gym Class Heroes at State Fair of Texas

Gym Class Heroes play the State Fair of Texas on Saturday, October 17, at the Chevrolet Main Stage in Fair Park. It's part of the Fair's 2026 music lineup, which runs from September 25 through October 18.

The band formed in Geneva, New York, and they've spent their career blending rap, rock, R&B, and funk into a melodic whole. While the sound is rooted in traditional hip-hop, it's built on live instruments rather than looped samples or beats. Fronted by Travie McCoy, the group resists fitting into a single genre and often tours alongside indie rock and pop-punk acts. Their lyrics tend toward the socially conscious, though they lean on humor and a dry, observant wit along the way.

This performance is one stop in a larger run. The State Fair of Texas stages a free Main Stage lineup across 24 days, drawing on alt-rock, Norteno, hip-hop, and country in partnership with Romeo Entertainment Group. Two additional stages, with their lineups revealed later in the summer, round out the Fair's musical program. Gym Class Heroes takes the stage on Saturday, October 17, at 6 PM, and admission to the concert is free with a paid Fair ticket.
