Guided candle-making workshop led by Olphactory Candles to create a custom 10 oz candle scented with notes inspired by the garden.
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is hosting a Floral Candles Workshop on Sunday, November 29, from 12 PM to 2 PM. It's a guided candle-making session held in the Green Classroom, and you'll walk away with a custom 10 oz candle you made yourself.
The workshop is called POUR'd, and it's led by Kali Smith and Brant Anderson of Olphactory Candles. The whole thing is built around your senses: you'll explore smell, taste, and hearing as you work, and the scents you'll use are seasonal notes inspired by the garden. It's pitched at people who've never made a candle before, but it's also framed as a way to put together a unique holiday gift. They describe it as a garden activity that works for individuals, small groups, or couples.

The session is part of Autumn at the Arboretum, one of the city's most well-known seasonal traditions. During this time, the garden's 66 acres are filled with more than 100,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash, so if you're coming for the workshop, you've got plenty to see around the grounds before or after. The workshop itself runs from 12 PM to 2 PM on Sunday, November 29, in the Green Classroom. Tickets are $89 for members and $99 for guests, and garden admission is included in both.
