R&B singer Eric Benet performs live at the House of Blues in Dallas.
Eric Benét plays the House of Blues Dallas on Wednesday, December 2, 2026, with the show starting at 7 PM. He's a Milwaukee native and a four-time Grammy nominee whose R&B career stretches from the late '80s to the present.
He didn't start out as a solo act. In the late '80s, he fronted the pop group Gerard, and later formed the band Benét with his sister Lisa and his cousin George Nash. Warner Bros. signed him as a solo artist in 1994, and his 1999 sophomore album, A Day in the Life, brought him his biggest breakthrough: the No. 1 R&B single "Spend My Life with You" with Tamia, which earned him his first Grammy nomination. Since then, he's released five more studio albums and put out hits like "You're the Only One" and "Sometimes I Cry," with a final Grammy nod coming in 2012.
Off stage, Benét has spent a good deal of his time on work that has nothing to do with music. He co-founded Mission Save Her, which fights human trafficking and sexual abuse, and with his wife Manuela Testolini set up In A Perfect World, which has built its 30th school and reached more than 30,000 children. Between the two, there's a fair amount of ground covered outside the recording studio.
