Dallas-based DJ and producer DJ Sober performs live at the Ziegenbock Stage during the State Fair of Texas.
DJ Sober plays the State Fair of Texas on Saturday, October 10, at the Ziegenbock Stage. It's a Dallas-based set in a Dallas-based fair, and for anyone who's followed the city's dance floors over the last decade, the name should ring a bell.
Sober wears a few hats—DJ, producer, promoter, and illustrator—and he's been a fixture in the local scene for years. He's one half of the production duo Booty Fade, alongside PICNICTYME, and their sound pulls from New Orleans bounce, Baltimore club, and Dallas boogie. Their remix of Erykah Badu's "On and On" got a co-sign from Badu herself, and the duo took home best producer and best song from the Dallas Observer. The Observer also named him Dallas' Best DJ in 2011 and 2012.
Beyond the studio, he's put his own stamp on the city's nightlife. He launched the soirees The Party and Big Bang!, and his Thursday-night residency, Big Bang!, has become a staple of the Texas circuit. He's also toured as the former DJ for the rap group A.Dd+ and spins at Cowboys, Mavericks, and FC Dallas games, so he's as comfortable in a stadium as he is in a club.

This particular set is part of the State Fair's 2026 run. He's playing the Ziegenbock Stage, a third locally focused stage that's opening inside the newly renovated Old Mill Inn, right alongside the Bud Light and White Claw Spotlight stages. It's a Dallas DJ on a Dallas stage during the Fair's run, so it's a good time to catch him in his home territory. He plays Saturday, October 10, at the Ziegenbock Stage in the Old Mill Inn at Fair Park.
