Lollie Bombs Burlesque turns The Big Lebowski into a live-action burlesque spectacle with trapeze, magic and stunts.
Lollie Bombs Burlesque are taking over The Nines on Saturday, October 17, with Mark it Zero: A Big Lebowski Tribute Show. They're turning the cult classic The Big Lebowski into a live-action burlesque spectacle, and the audience is encouraged to come in costume and bring Duderino vibes.
For those who haven't crossed paths with them yet, the Lollie Bombs are a Dallas-based neo-burlesque troupe run by Miss Malicious. They've been shaking up the city's scene since 2006, and they call themselves the "Dastardly Darlings of Burlesque." Their act is a wide-open mix of trapeze, silks, lyra, hula, sideshow stunts, live singing, clowns, and magic—the kind of variety show that doesn't stick to one lane. The troupe's roots go back to the early 1990s, and fans were calling them "The Lollie Bombs" long before they ever adopted the name themselves.
That variety is exactly what they're bringing to the Lebowski tribute. Instead of just a few dance numbers, the show pulls from that same mix of trapeze, magic, and stunts to build the story. It's a burlesque take on the movie, so expect the familiar characters and plot points filtered through the troupe's high-energy, multi-act style. And since they're leaning into the cult film, the costume suggestion is a big part of the night—showing up as the Dude, Walter, or Maude is practically part of the ticket.
