Concert by Dexter and the Moonrocks, a Southern Alternative band, with special guests Cigarettes at Sunset and High June, as part of The 12 Steps Tour.
Dexter and The Moonrocks play The Bomb Factory on Saturday, October 31, as part of their 12 Steps Tour. They're bringing two special guests along for the night, Cigarettes at Sunset and High June, so there are three bands on the bill.
Coming out of Abilene, Dexter and The Moonrocks play a mix of Southern alternative, red-dirt country, and alternative rock. It's a sound their fans have dubbed 'Western SpaceGrunge,' and the influences they cite help place it: Nirvana and Foo Fighters for the grunge side, Rainbow Kitten Surprise for the alternative, and Whiskey Myers for the country. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist James Tuffs, lead guitarist and vocal harmonizer Ryan Anderson, bassist Ty Anderson, and drummer and vocal harmonizer Fox.
They've been building their catalog since 2021, when they released their debut single 'Couch.' That was followed by a self-titled EP featuring 'Where I Steer' and 'Behave,' and later 'She Likes Girls,' which came out through Severance Records. Their songs lean on storytelling and raw energy, with lyrics that circle love, loss, and the human experience. The Dallas date is one stop on The 12 Steps Tour.
