American alternative rock band Deep Blue Something performs live at the Chevrolet Main Stage during the 2026 State Fair of Texas.
Deep Blue Something play the State Fair of Texas on Sunday, October 11, at 3 PM. They'll be on the Chevrolet Main Stage, one of the three stages hosting music throughout the fair.
If the name rings a bell but the faces don't, it's probably because of "Breakfast at Tiffany's," the song that put them on the map. It hit the top three of the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1995 and went to number one in the UK in 1996. That one track is the big one most people know, but there's a fair amount of music behind it.
The band started in Denton, Texas, formed by brothers Todd and Toby Pipes while they were students at the University of North Texas. They rounded out the lineup with drummer John Kirtland and guitarist Clay Bergus. Before they settled on the name, they played as Leper Messiah, a line they took from David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust.

Their discography runs through four full-length albums: 11th Song in 1993, Home in 1995, Byzantium in 1998, and Deep Blue Something in 2000. After a hiatus in the early 2000s, the band reunited in 2014 and put out the Locust House EP in 2020. This show is part of the 2026 State Fair of Texas, which runs from September 25 to October 18 across three stages. Deep Blue Something takes the Chevrolet Main Stage on Sunday, October 11, at 3 PM.
