Concert by Austin singer-songwriter David Ramirez, known for his work in folk and indie-americana.
David Ramirez plays Sons of Hermann Hall on Saturday, October 24, at 8 PM. He's an Austin singer-songwriter who works across folk, indie-americana, and alternative, and this is a solo bill.
Ramirez was born in Houston in August 1983, just days after Hurricane Alicia hit. He first made his mark with American Soil (2009) and Apologies (2012), and with the STRANGETOWN (2011) and The Rooster (2013) EPs, which gave us fan favorites like "Shoeboxes" and "The Bad Days."
He made his Thirty Tigers debut with 2015's FABLES, produced by Noah Gundersen, which holds his most widely received single, "Harder to Lie." The 2017 album We're Not Going Anywhere took a different turn, influenced by 1980s bands like The Cars and Journey, and looked at the country's political landscape through his perspective as a bi-racial American of Mexican heritage. That same year he put out My Love Is A Hurricane, recorded with producer Jason Burt at Modern Electric Studios right here in Dallas—an R&B-influenced, piano-driven record.
