Country music artist David Nail performs live at Poor David's Pub in Dallas.
David Nail plays Poor David's Pub on Friday, November 13, as part of his Down to the Studs tour. He's a singer and songwriter from Kennett, Missouri, who's spent a good part of his career on Music Row in Nashville, where he's often called a 'tour de force.'
His early releases—I'm About To Come Alive, The Sound Of A Million Dreams, I'm A Fire, and Fighter—earned him a reputation as an innovator and a creative risk-taker. Those records left him feeling restless, though, and eventually led to his departure from MCA Nashville. From there, he began working on David Nail & The Well Ravens with Jason Hall and Andrew Petroff, which he describes as his most organic work to date.
Much of that organic shift comes from where he's been. Nail has spoken openly about his own journey with mental illness and a desire to 'rebel against what people expect you to be.' His songs don't pull punches when it comes to the demons he's wrestled through much of his life, and that creative maturity shows up in both his songwriting and a voice widely hailed as one of the best male voices in Nashville.
