Country rock concert by David Lee Murphy presenting his album Tryin' To Get There, presented by ACE Scholarships Texas.
David Lee Murphy plays the House of Blues in Dallas on Thursday, October 22, 2026. He's touring his album Tryin' To Get There, and the show is presented by ACE Scholarships Texas, with presenting sponsor Katie and Hunter Hill, with proceeds supporting scholarships for Texas children.
Murphy is a Nashville country-rocker who describes his music as fun, rowdy, and rooted in edgy, blue-collar, working-class country. He moved to Music City in 1983 and spent a decade working his way up before signing with MCA Records in 1992. His 1995 debut, Out with a Bang, became the best-selling debut album by a male country singer that year, driven by the radio hit "Party Crowd" and the number-one single "Dust on the Bottle," which earned him an ACM nomination for Top New Male Vocalist.
After that initial run, he shifted his focus toward songwriting. Kenny Chesney took his "Living in Fast Forward" to number one in 2006, and Jason Aldean followed with a number-one cover of "Big Green Tractor" in 2009. He returned to recording in 2018 with No Zip Code, produced by Chesney and Buddy Cannon. This show brings him back to the stage with Tryin' To Get There.
