Recital of tenor Dann Coakwell with the Dallas Bach Society, featuring Baroque music performed on original instruments, with pre-concert hospitality and house tours.
Dann Coakwell returns to The Aldredge House Museum on Saturday, November 7, for a recital with the Dallas Bach Society. It's his second appearance on the House Concert series, which brings soloists into the historic home at 5500 Swiss Avenue near the heart of Dallas. The format is built around getting the music up close, and each evening is paired with pre-concert hospitality and scheduled house tours.
Coakwell sings with the Dallas Bach Society, led by Artistic Director James Richman. The ensemble specializes in Baroque music performed on original instruments, and their recordings include Bach's Saint John Passion and harpsichord works by Rameau. That focus on period instruments is a good way to frame what to expect from the sound—the kind of early music that feels right at home in a house like Aldredge.
