Cure for Paranoia performs the set that won them the 2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest, celebrating the Echo Lounge 5th anniversary.
Cure for Paranoia play The Echo Lounge & Music Hall on Saturday, November 28, their first full band show in Dallas since winning the 2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest. They're performing the set that won them the contest, and the night doubles as a celebration of the Echo Lounge's fifth anniversary. The show is presented by At the Helm Presents, and Damoyee joins them with special guests.
Cure for Paranoia is a Dallas hip-hop and soul collective founded by Cameron McCloud. A preschool teacher by day, McCloud posted a new verse every day of 2025; those dailies became No Brainer, the project that won the Tiny Desk Contest. The collective's album Don't Forget to Breathe is out on all platforms.
McCloud's path to the record is a personal one: a decade ago, he was placed on medication for bipolar depression and paranoid schizophrenia and found that the music worked better. That's the context behind the daily writing that led to No Brainer and the Tiny Desk win.
