A celebration concert marking the tenth season of the Coppell Community Orchestra, featuring guest appearances by its previous conductors.
The Coppell Community Orchestra is celebrating its tenth anniversary on Sunday, October 11, at the Coppell Arts Center. The concert, titled CCO Turns Ten, marks the orchestra's tenth season, and the program brings back two of its previous conductors for guest appearances alongside the full ensemble.
There's a bit of a story behind the group that puts the milestone in perspective. The CCO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that recruits volunteer musicians and volunteer staff year-round, and it relies on sponsors and donors to keep growing. So when they talk about ten seasons, they're talking about a decade of local players coming together on their own time to keep the music going. Having two former conductors return for the anniversary makes the whole thing feel like a bit of a family reunion.
The performance takes place in the Main Hall, and there's more to do than just the concert: the Lobby Gallery opens an hour before the show, and the Main Hall doors open 30 minutes before. If you're bringing a group, there are discounts for 10 or more tickets.
