Cameron Whitcomb, the Canadian country-folk singer-songwriter and American Idol finalist, performs live at The Cambridge Room at House of Blues in Dallas.
Cameron Whitcomb plays The Cambridge Room at House of Blues on Friday, October 30, with support from Noah Rinker. He's a 21-year-old songwriter from Nanaimo on British Columbia's Vancouver Island, and the set will draw from a body of work that's grown quickly over the last few years.
Whitcomb's path to the stage is a bit of a story in itself. He left home at 17, worked on a pipeline, and posted covers on Reddit before an American Idol executive discovered his voice; he went on to become a top 20 finalist on the show's 20th season. He broke through with the autobiographical Quitter EP, which drew from his journey overcoming addiction, and the single "Medusa"—both landed on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. He followed those with the single "Hundred Mile High," the LP The Way, and the award-nominated Quitter. In 2025, he took home the CCMA Breakthrough Artist and Fans' Choice awards.
His sound blends rough-edged country, stripped-back folk, and punk-leaning pop, and he's known for turning candid details of his own life into songs. He also partners with PLUS1, donating $1 from every ticket sold to Project Healthy Minds.
