The legendary punk band Buzzcocks perform live with special guest Grade 2 at the historic Longhorn Ballroom.
Buzzcocks play the Longhorn Ballroom on Saturday, November 21, with Grade 2 opening. It's a punk bill with a long history behind it.
Buzzcocks are punk legends whose self-financed 1977 debut, the Spiral Scratch EP, helped birth the independent sector and gave us classics like "Promises" and "Harmony In My Head." Singer and guitarist Steve Diggle, now 68, remains the band's driving force and describes the group as his "lifeblood." Their 2022 album Sonics In The Soul was a critical and commercial success that drew attention from rock royalty like Elton John and Steven Van Zandt, and in 2023 Diggle announced a new record, Attitude Adjustment.
Diggle's influences run wide—he's cited Bob Dylan and Little Richard alongside Samuel Beckett and Stockhausen—and he's called Buzzcocks "the most philosophical of all the punk bands." The classic lineup reunited in 1989 after imploding in 1981, and the band played on until Pete Shelley died in 2018. They were inducted into the Music Walk Of Fame in September 2023.
