British electronic music producer Bonobo performs live from his album 'Distance In Static' at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall.
Bonobo plays The Echo Lounge & Music Hall on Saturday, November 7, as part of his Distance In Static North American tour. The show starts at 7 PM, and he's the only name on the bill.
Bonobo is the stage name of Simon Green, a British musician, producer, and DJ who's become one of the most recognized names in electronic music. He's released two UK Top 5 albums, Migration and Fragments, and has worked with artists like Erykah Badu and Damon Albarn. Along the way, he's picked up several BRIT and GRAMMY nominations.
The tour is built around his latest album, Distance In Static, released on Ninja Tune. It's a wide-reaching record: the lyrics are in English, Urdu, and Japanese, and the music pulls in Iranian samples and guzheng recordings. The tracking was spread across Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, and Neil Young's Broken Arrow Ranch, so the songs come from a few different corners of the world. The live show is designed by Pierre Claude, and it's the same production that's played sold-out nights at the Sydney Opera House, Red Rocks, and Alexandra Palace, as well as a five-night residency at the Royal Albert Hall. He's also played festival stages like Glastonbury, Coachella, and Fuji Rock.
