London-based electronic music duo Bassvictim perform live at The Studio at The Factory in Dallas, with support from Thoom.
Bassvictim play The Studio at The Factory on Friday, October 9, with Thoom opening. It's a London duo that came together in 2022, pairing Polish-English singer Maria Manow with American-English producer Ike Clateman. They've built their name on a gritty, electronic sound they call "basspunk"—a mix of electropop and EDM that leans into the heavier, distorted end of the spectrum.
Their debut album, Forever, came out in 2025, and tracks like "Canary Wharf Freestyle" have become their calling cards. The music is hard to pin down to a single genre, and that's something they've leaned into; critics have had a tough time categorizing it, and the duo seems fine with that. They're best known for their live shows, which have a reputation for being explosive rather than laid-back, so this is more of a night for the dance floor than for sitting back and listening.
Thoom opens the bill, so you'll get two acts in one night. Bassvictim takes the main slot, and the set will draw from Forever and the singles that have put them on the map. If you've only heard the recordings, the live show is where the basspunk label really makes sense—it's built for a loud room.
