Fifth annual celebration of North Texas' Asian American and Pacific Islander communities with cultural performances, authentic cuisine and family activities.
The AAPI Festival returns to Sammons Park on Saturday, May 8, 2027, marking its fifth year as a celebration of North Texas' Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. It's an annual event put on by the AT&T Performing Arts Center, presented in partnership with the Dallas Police Department's Office of Community Affairs.
The day is built around cultural performances and authentic cuisine. One of the long-standing favorites is the snack passport activity, which lets you work your way through the food stalls. Between the stage and the food, there are activities for all ages, so it works as a family outing as much as a solo trip.
Sammons Park is an outdoor extension of the Center, designed by Michelle Desvigne of Paris in collaboration with JJR of Chicago. It's a wide-open space with verandah seating in front of the Winspear Opera House, sprawling lawns for picnics and performances, and the Donor Reflecting Pool—a black granite feature honoring donors of $1 million or more. It's a good spot to set up a blanket and hang out for the afternoon.
