Hands-on workshop led by Nicole Tabit to make a wire wreath frame decorated with winter greenery, berries and cones, with all supplies provided.
Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is hosting a Wreath Workshop on Friday, December 4, from 6 PM to 8 PM. It's held in the Wells Barn, so you'll be working right inside the gardens rather than in a separate studio. The whole point is to walk away with a handmade holiday wreath you actually made yourself, and they provide all the materials, so you don't have to bring a thing.
It's a hands-on class: you'll start by building a wire wreath frame from scratch, then fill it with winter greenery, berries, and cones. Once the base is set, you'll top it off with seasonal decor, picks, and bows. Since they provide everything, you just show up and get to work. They're also serving hot chocolate and tea, which fits the vibe of a December evening in the gardens.
Leading the session is Nicole Tabit, the Adult Program Manager at the Conservatory. She holds a degree in Natural Resource Management and Visitors Services from The Ohio State University and describes her art as pulling from her love of the outdoors to tie natural elements into her projects. If you can't make the Friday night slot, there are more wreath workshops on Saturday, December 5, with morning and afternoon sessions to choose from.
