One-time watercolor workshop with artist Michelle Boerio to paint expressive evening and spooky landscapes, open to all ages.
Watercolor: Nocturnes is a one-time workshop at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on Saturday, October 24, from 1 PM to 3 PM. The session is open to all ages, so it works whether you're coming on your own or bringing the kids along.
The focus is on evening landscapes. You'll spend the afternoon practicing how to paint flowing, colorful skies, and the goal is to build scenes that can go in a couple of different directions: some beautiful, some outright spooky. It's a relaxed atmosphere, and it's designed for any level, so you don't need to be an experienced painter to jump in.
Leading the class is Michelle Boerio, a visual artist and educator who lives and works here in Columbus. She splits her time between making her own art and teaching students of all ages. She earned her BFA from the Ohio State University in 2021, with a focus in painting and drawing, and later an MA in museum education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
