Chicago's eclectic rock band Umphrey's McGee performs live at KEMBA Live! as part of their Fresh Cut 2027 tour.
Umphrey's McGee play KEMBA Live! on Friday, January 15, 2027, as part of their Fresh Cut 2027 tour, presented by WCBE. The Chicago band has been playing for nearly 28 years, and they've spent that time resisting the jam band label by mixing prog rock, Beatles-esque arrangements, and metal riffs.
They've played close to 3,000 live gigs and racked up more than 300 million streams. They were on the first-ever Bonnaroo bill and sold more CDs than any other act on the lineup. They were also the first band to launch their own single-artist streaming service, UMLive.net, which held recordings of every show since 2005 and now lives on through Nugs.net, the same platform used by Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen.
They've always been into the technical side of the live experience. They started 'Headphones & Snowcones,' which gives fans a soundboard-quality mix to listen to wirelessly during the show, and at their UMBowl, they let the audience vote on the setlist in real time. In 2017, they integrated VR and 360 video into their shows. They also stage their own international events in Morocco, Iceland, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico, and they co-host the Summer Camp festival in Chillicothe, Illinois.
