Live show headlined by The Number Twelve Looks Like You, with support from Kaonashi and Differences, at Ace of Cups.
The Number Twelve Looks Like You play Ace of Cups on Tuesday, October 27, with Kaonashi and Differences joining them on the bill. It's a five-band night, so there's plenty to hear before the main set.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, it comes from a particularly dark, dystopian 1964 episode of The Twilight Zone. The band formed in New Jersey back in 2001 and built their sound by blending grindcore, progressive metal, hardcore punk, and jazzāa mix that puts them in a different lane than most of the heavy stuff that comes through Columbus. Their 2003 debut EP, Put on Your Rosy Red Glasses, was a concept record that explored the mind of a real-life serial killer; it caught the attention of Eyeball Records, who reissued it in 2006.
From there they put out Nuclear. Sad. Nuclear. in 2005, Mongrel in 2007, and the 2009 album Worse Than Alone. After that, they went on an indefinite hiatus, which lasted until May 2016 when they returned and eventually released Wild Gods in 2019. This show is one of the dates they've played since coming back.
