Tony Award-winning Broadway musical adapting F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel, with a jazz- and pop-influenced original score, to the Ohio Theatre.
The Great Gatsby comes to the Ohio Theatre from February 23 through March 3, 2027, for an eleven-performance run. It's the Tony Award-winning musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic American novel, which has sold more than 30 million copies since 1925. The story follows the millionaire Jay Gatsby in his pursuit of his lost love, Daisy Buchanan, and it brings the Roaring Twenties to life on stage.
Behind the production are director Marc Bruni and choreographer Dominique Kelley, with a book by Kait Kerrigan and an original score by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen that blends jazz and pop. The show first landed on Broadway at The Broadway Theatre, where previews began March 29, 2024, and it opened April 25, 2024, following a record-breaking world-premiere engagement at Paper Mill Playhouse. It went on to win the 2024 Tony Award for Best Costume Design and the 2024 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite New Musical, along with nine top awards in BroadwayWorld's 2024 Theater Fan's Choice awards, including Best Musical. Since then, it has made its West End debut at the London Coliseum and toured globally, including a stop in Seoul. Critics have called it a "Broadway extravaganza that explodes with life and energy" and "a party to end all parties."
