Night of live music headlined by The Crosses, with Vic Bondi & His Issues, Blank Shatz and Betty Machete and the Angry Cougars at Cafe Bourbon Street.
The Crosses headline Cafe Bourbon Street on Tuesday, October 20, with Vic Bondi & His Issues, Blank Shatz, and Betty Machete and the Angry Cougars rounding out the bill. The night is put together by Chaos Promotional.
The Crosses are fronted by Daniel Kubinski, who also played in Die Kreuzen. The project bridges his hardcore roots with the angular, progressive metal of bands like Voivod, and it draws on a legacy acknowledged by artists from Soundgarden to Sonic Youth. Vic Bondi & His Issues is the title of Bondi's 27th release, put out on Alternative Tentacles with a name given to him by Jello Biafra. Bondi was a founding force behind Chicago's early-1980s hardcore band Articles of Faith, which formed in 1981 as Direct Drive; he's also fronted Report Suspicious Activity, Dead Ending, and Tom Morello's Weatherman project, and he started the surf band Redshift in 2019. He holds a PhD in history from Boston University and has taught at several universities.
Betty Machete and the Angry Cougars are a Columbus rock band whose members describe themselves as "one half shitty Circle Jerks, one half shitty Judas Priest."
