A full-length, completely improvised musical built around a title chosen by the audience on the night, featuring big ensemble numbers and local musicians.
TBD: The Improvised Musical! is back at The Hashtag Comedy Club on Friday, December 18, 2026. It's a full-length musical made up on the spot, and the whole thing starts with a single title chosen by the audience that night. From there, the cast builds the story, the songs, and the characters from scratch, so no two shows ever come out the same.
The music is handled by a rotating cast of local musicians who don't just provide the backing—they become characters in their own right. The set covers a lot of ground: big ensemble numbers, heart-wrenching solos, showstoppers, and love songs, all written and performed in the moment. Because the title comes from the room, the plot is a complete surprise for the performers as much as it is for the audience.
The troupe is made up of musical improvisers from across Central Ohio, and they don't just play the Hashtag. They're regulars at Natalie's in Grandview and the Hashtag Comedy Theater, and they tour around the state. Fans have called the experience "pure magic," and since every performance is one-of-a-kind, it's the kind of show you can see more than once and never get the same story twice. It's rated PG-13, so it's fine for a night out with friends.
