Competitive improv show that parodies the TV series Survivor, with audience voting on who stays and who is sent packing.
Survivor: Improv returns to The Hashtag Comedy Club on Saturday, November 14, presented by Canada Wet. It's a competitive improv show that parodies the Survivor TV series, and it's built around the same basic premise: a group of improvisers facing off in a series of challenges until only one remains.
On stage, Columbus' top improvisers go through unpredictable challenges, shocking plot twists, and cutthroat comedy. The audience gets to vote on who stays and who is sent packing, so you're not just watchingโyou're deciding who survives. Between the games, live confessionals let the performers air their alliances, betrayals, and strategies, giving you a look at the politics happening behind the scenes while the show is still running.
It's staged at The Hashtag Comedy Club at 1253 N. High St in the Short North Arts District, which the club bills as the city's hottest comedy venue and home to improv, stand-up, and sketch. The Hashtag Comedy Company started its improv show more than 13 years ago, and it's remained an anchor for the club, which also runs improv workshops and classes. If you've never seen them, this is one of the longer-running improv fixtures in the city.
