All-ages indoor show by Streetlight Manifesto with Hot Rod Circuit at KEMBA Live! in Columbus.
Streetlight Manifesto are playing KEMBA Live! on Sunday, November 22, as part of their The Presence of the Past tour. They're bringing Hot Rod Circuit along for the bill, so you'll get two bands in one night.
If you've never seen them, it helps to know where they started. Streetlight Manifesto formed in New Jersey as an ad hoc group that intended to put out one album and then disappear. But when their debut, Everything Goes Numb, took off, they became a full-time touring band instead. They've been on the road ever since, and twenty years later they're still playing to sold-out shows.
What they do is hard to pin down to one genre. They're a high-energy outfit with more horn players than traditional rock instruments, and their sound pulls from Latin, klezmer, folk, world, funk, jazz, and classical music—all while staying true to the DIY roots they started with. It's a lot of different influences running through the same set.
