Six-week ballroom dance class taught by Jeff Grace, rotating through waltz, tango, cha cha, foxtrot, rumba and swing, open to beginners and advanced dancers.
Stonewall Columbus is hosting a six-week ballroom dance class running from Thursday, October 8, through Thursday, November 19, 2026. It's a rotating program, so you'll work through waltz, tango, cha cha, foxtrot, rumba, and swing over the course of the session. There's no class on October 29, and the whole thing runs from 7:15 to 9:15 PM on Thursday nights.
The class is open to everyone, with or without a partner, and welcomes all genders and gender pairings in an accepting environment. If you're a beginner, you'll learn the basics of each dance and a few beginner steps. If you've danced before, you can build on what you already know with more advanced moves. There's a separate track for the experienced crowd: those who've received the go-ahead from the instructor arrive at 6:15 PM, while everyone else comes in at 7:15 PM.
Leading the sessions is Jeff Grace, who's been dancing since he was eight and teaching ballroom for over 40 years. He's worked with all ages, from pre-teens to adults, and has coached both college and high school ballroom dance teams. He's the former owner of the Akron Dance Academy in Akron, Ohio, and has taught at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Akron and Grace's Ballroom Studio in Paris, Ohio.
