Free concert by Steve Taylor And Some Band with special guest The Choir at the Southern Theatre in Columbus.
Steve Taylor And Some Band play the Southern Theatre on Friday, October 30, with The Choir as special guest. It's a CAPA presentation, and the show starts at 7:30 PM.
Steve Taylor has been recording since 1983, and his career has touched a lot of different corners of the industry. He's a musician, filmmaker, writer, producer, and entrepreneur, and over four decades he's put out more than a million records, earned multiple RIAA Platinum and Gold certifications, and picked up two GRAMMY nominations. His solo work includes the GRAMMY-nominated albums Meltdown in 1984 and Squint in 1993. He also founded the alternative rock band Chagall Guevara, fronts the supergroup Steve Taylor & The Perfect Foil, and produced Sixpence None The Richer's platinum 1997 album. He's the only artist to win two Billboard Music Video Awards for videos he directed himself, and these days he serves as Director of the School of Theatre and Cinematic Arts at Lipscomb University in Nashville.
Opening for him is The Choir, a band that started in Southern California and now calls Nashville home. They blend rock, post-punk, and ambient textures, with Derri Daugherty, Steve Hindalong, and Dan Michaels at the front. 2026 is a big year for them: they're celebrating 40 years with Dragonfly, their 20th studio album.
