Theatrical rock show inspired by Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, with riffs, vocals, choreography and lighting, served by table in Shadowbox Live.
Shadowbox Live is running Speak of the Devil over several dates this fall, starting Thursday, October 29. It's a theatrical production inspired by the music of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, and the company describes it as a visceral spectacle rather than a straight cover set. That means the thunderous riffs and commanding vocals are paired with striking visuals, dynamic choreography, and atmospheric lighting, so it's as much about the staging as it is about the songs.
Shadowbox Live presents the show, and they're the home of the self-billed largest resident theatre ensemble in the country. They've been a Columbus destination for music, comedy, and immersive experiences for nearly four decades. They're also a nonprofit, and they give back more than $250,000 annually through education and community programs, with a portion of every ticket purchase going toward those efforts.
The show is staged in the ensemble's historic landmark building at 503 S Front St. Ste #260, where seating is cabaret-style by table. There's a full bar and menu served before the performance, so you can eat and drink before the show starts. If you're planning to go, it helps to know the format: you'll be at a table with a drink in front of you rather than in a standard theater seat.

There are four performances to choose from: Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30, both at 7 PM; Sunday, November 1 at 2 PM; and Thursday, November 5 at 7 PM. That's a mix of weeknights and a Sunday matinee, so you can pick the one that fits your schedule best.
