Monthly gathering hosted by Brian Clash and Joanie Calem to sing, play and listen to songs about social justice.
The Social Action Song Swap is back at Global Gallery Coffee House in Clintonville, and it's a monthly thing that runs through the end of the year. It happens on the second Sunday of every month from 5 to 7 PM, and the next one is Tuesday, October 20. It's hosted by Brian Clash and Joanie Calem.
The whole idea is pretty straightforward: people gather to sing, play, and listen to songs about social justice. You can bring a new song you've been working on or an old one you've known for years, and the point is to share it with the room. It's as much about listening as it is about performing, so you'll hear as many songs as you're likely to sing.
This is part of the ARTober series at the Global Gallery Coffee House, and the organizers frame it as a way to make your voice heard through music. If you've got a song that speaks to something you care about, this is the place to bring it. If you'd rather just sit back and listen, that works too.
