Big band dance night at the historic Valley Dale Ballroom, part of the venue's 'Famed and Fabulous Fridays' series.
Rick Brunetto Big Band is taking over the Valley Dale Ballroom on Friday, October 30, and they aren't stopping there. This is the start of a long run: they'll be back on November 6, 13, 20, and 27, and then again on December 4, 11, 18, and 25. That's ten Friday nights in a row, running from the end of October all the way through Christmas Day.
These dates are part of the ballroom's 'Famed and Fabulous Fridays,' the big band dance nights that keep the place's dance floor busy. If you've never been, the Valley Dale Ballroom is one of Columbus's old-school landmarks, located at 1590 Sunbury Rd. It's a historic spot that's hosted some of the biggest names in musicβThe Velvet Underground, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, and Frank Sinatra all played here. These days it's got two levels of space for corporate events, dinners, and parties, along with receptions, weddings, and family reunions, but on Friday nights it goes back to its roots as a dance hall.

Because the run is so long, you don't have to rush to catch them on the first night. If October 30 doesn't work, you've got nine more Fridays to choose from, and they're all at the same spot. Each one runs from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM, so it's a full evening of music without running too late into the night. Whether you're in for one night or want to make a habit of it, the Rick Brunetto Big Band will be there every Friday through the end of the year.
