ProMusica Storytimes

ProMusica Storytimes comes to the Columbus Metropolitan Library - Barnett Branch on Thursday, October 22, at 10:30 AM. It's part of a series of free music storytimes for preschoolers that the library runs across its neighborhood branches, and this one features musicians from the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra as co-hosts.

Each session is built around a particular theme that ties the story and the song together, and the musicians lead the way alongside the librarians. There's a display of books and stories for everyone to look through, and the music, books, and interactive activities are all tailored for preschoolers, so it's designed to be an energizing, engaging way for little ones to experience classical music. It's less of a formal concert and more of a shared activity.

If you can't make this one, there are plenty of other dates to choose from. The series continues through the winter and spring at various branches: Tuesday, October 27, at the Franklinton Branch; Wednesday, November 4, at the Hilliard Branch; Wednesday, November 18, at the Northside Branch; Monday, November 30, at the Hilltop Branch; Thursday, December 10, at the Reynoldsburg Branch; and Thursday, December 17, at the Shepard Branch. After the new year, it keeps going with the Northern Lights Branch on January 6, the Marion-Franklin Branch on January 12, the Westerville Public Library on January 25, the Whetstone Branch on February 3, the Karl Road Branch on February 10, the Whitehall Branch on February 20, and the New Albany Branch on February 25. The final stretch takes it to the Upper Arlington Public Library - Tremont Road Branch on March 2, the Linden Branch on March 18, the Main Library on March 27, the Grove City Library on April 8, and the Bexley Public Library on April 15.

Admission is free for all these sessions. The Barnett Branch date is Thursday, October 22, at 10:30 AM.
