Concert by the professional choral ensemble ProArteOHIO with choral literature celebrating nature and love.
ProArteOHIO is performing at Saint Mary Catholic Church on Sunday, April 18, 2027, from 4 PM to 5 PM. The concert is titled Scent of Spring: Serenades, Gardens, and Whispering Winds, and it's a choral program that pulls from literature celebrating the beauty of nature and the power of love. The performance is funded by the Ohio Arts Commission.
If you haven't come across them before, ProArteOHIO is the region's premier all-professional vocal ensemble. They were formerly known as the Lancaster Chorale, and they've built their name on taking on challenging repertoire and putting on culturally enriching programs across Columbus and throughout Ohio. Their mission is a bit of a bridge: they draw on the rich treasury of the past, program new works that invite audiences to explore the present, and support educational initiatives with young singers to help keep the choral arts going for the next generation. This particular program, Scent of Spring, fits right into thatβit's a curated selection of choral music centered on nature and love, performed by a professional group that's known for leaning into the more demanding side of the repertoire.
