21+ Halloween night of seven short improv plays, a costume contest with prizes and a holiday hostess at St James Tavern.
OGP is taking over St James Tavern on Friday, October 30, for a Halloween taproom takeover that runs from 7 PM to 8:10 PM. The night is built around a costume contest with prizes and a holiday hostess, Scaroline Rose Thoma, who'll be holding things together between the plays. The whole evening is strictly 21+.
The main event is a bill of seven short improv plays, all tied to the theme Not all capes wear heroes. The lineup includes In The Bag by Greg Vovos, Cover Charge by Mark Dubovec, Not All Heroes Wear Capes by Doug Powhida, Polycule Problems by Jonathan Dersch, Unstuck by Kaily Anderson, Bar Witch by Mark Dubovec, and Service Human by Ava Love Hanna. Dubovec pulls double duty with two of the seven. Since it's improv, each one is built on the fly, and the short format means you'll get through all seven in a little over an hour.

Between the plays, the costume contest keeps things moving, and Scaroline Rose Thoma runs the room as hostess. If you're planning to enter, come dressed—there are prizes on the line. The tavern is at 1057 N 4th St in Columbus, and admission is free, though drinks aren't included. It's a tight window—7 PM to 8:10 PM—so if you're coming for the contest and the plays, you'll want to be there right at the start.
