Original holiday jukebox musical by Shadowbox Live in which a DJ takes requests and dedications on Christmas Eve.
Shadowbox Live is bringing Not So Silent Night to Shadowbox Live in Columbus, running from November 29 through December 27, 2026. It's an original jukebox musical, which means it's built from popular songs that already exist, woven together by a new story. The plot follows a DJ taking requests and dedications on Christmas Eve, and the company bills it as a sweet, fun, and song-filled holiday night. The show runs 90 minutes with one intermission.
If you're not familiar with the company, Shadowbox Live was founded here in Columbus in 1988 and is the nation's largest full-time resident theatre ensemble. They're known for high-energy work that blends sketch comedy, music tribute, musicals, dance-theatre, and metamedia. One of the things that sets them apart is that the same performers serve as the creators, curators, and the people serving the food and beverage menu. They're supported by the Greater Columbus Arts Council, the Ohio Arts Council, and The Columbus Foundation.
Not So Silent Night is part of their full 2026 season, which runs from January through December. That season combines four sketch comedy and music experiences, two musical tributes, and two original musicals, along with recurring favorites. This one falls into the original musical category, so it's one of the new stories they've written for the year.
