The Columbus Symphony, conducted by Ann Krinitsky, stages a theatrical concert of songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Elton John and Paul McCartney.
The Columbus Symphony is bringing Music of the Knights to the Davidson Theatre on Friday, November 13, 2026. It's a theatrical celebration of three of Britain's most famous songwriters: Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John, and Sir Paul McCartney. The title is a nod to the fact that all three have been knighted, and the program pulls from their careers, which each span several decades.
Conductor Ann Krinitsky leads the symphony through a selection of songs from the three. You'll hear Memory from Lloyd Webber, Can You Feel the Love Tonight from Elton John, and Hey Jude from Paul McCartney. The show is built around their lasting musical influence, and since they're three of the most successful songwriters of all time, the set draws from a deep well of familiar material.
The Columbus Symphony's full season runs from Masterworks and Pops to the Nationwide Picnic with the Pops, as well as Education and Community Engagement programs. Music of the Knights falls into the Pops side of things, with the orchestra taking on these songwriters' melodies rather than a standard classical program. The Davidson Theatre, formerly The Capitol Theatre, is part of the Riffe Center Theatre Complex at 77 S. High St. downtown.
