Jim Brickman's annual holiday concert, a warm show of his romantic hits and classic Christmas songs for audiences of all ages.
Jim Brickman brings his annual holiday show, A Christmas Celebration, to the Davidson Theatre at the Riffe Center on Friday, December 18, at 7:30 PM. He calls it "The Brickman tradition" — a night of music, laughter and festive moments for audiences of all ages. On stage, he weaves together his own romantic hits, like "Valentine," "Your Love" and "The Gift," with timeless holiday classics, a mix he describes as a warm holiday homecoming packed with the music that has soundtracked our lives.
For those who only know him from the radio, the numbers add up quickly. Brickman is one of the best-selling solo pianists of our time, with 21 number-one albums, 32 top-20 radio singles, two Grammy nominations, a Dove Award and two SESAC Songwriter of the Year Awards. He's sold eight million albums worldwide, and his career extends beyond the piano: he's written three best-selling books, starred in four TV concert specials and hosts the syndicated radio show The Jim Brickman Show.
There's also a local connection here. Brickman was born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and started piano training at age five. He released his first album, No Words, in 1995, and has spent the decades since building the catalog he'll be drawing from for this show. The holiday concert has become a regular fixture for him, and this stop in Columbus is part of that annual run.
