Sketch and improv comedy show by Hashtag Comedy Company with players from Monday Night Live, Actual Wolves, Backburner Comedy and Artificial Idiocy.
Hot People Near You! is coming to The Hashtag Comedy Club on Saturday, January 2, 2027. It's a live sketch comedy show presented by Hashtag Comedy Company, and it pulls from a pretty wide pool of local talent. The cast is made up of sketch and improv players from current and former comedy groups around town, including Monday Night Live, Actual Wolves, Backburner Comedy and Artificial Idiocy. If you've followed any of those troupes over the years, you'll likely recognize a few familiar faces on stage.
The show is pitched to fans of Saturday Night Live and I Think You Should Leave, and it leans into the more theatrical side of sketch—outrageous props and silly costumes are part of the promise. It's a night of scripted scenes rather than a loose improv set, so you can expect a full production with costumes and sets rather than just a few people standing around a mic.
The venue is The Hashtag Comedy Club, located at 1253 N High Street in the Short North Arts District. It's been an anchor of the Columbus improv scene for over a decade, and it's billed as the city's hottest comedy venue. If you're not already familiar with the area, it's right in the heart of the Short North, so it's easy to grab a drink or a bite nearby before or after.
