Printmaking workshop with instructor Michelle Boerio to make handmade holiday cards from natural materials, with all supplies provided.
Michelle Boerio is leading a holiday card printmaking workshop at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on Thursday, December 3, from 6 PM to 8 PM. The session is held in the AEP Foundation Education Pavilion, and the whole point is to make your own holiday cards using natural materials. You'll spend the evening printing your own designs, and you'll leave with a set of handmade cards to send out.
Boerio is a Columbus-based visual artist and educator who splits her time between making her own work and teaching students of all ages. She earned her BFA from the Ohio State University in 2021 with a focus on painting and drawing, and later an MA in museum education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She works across multiple mediums, so she's comfortable guiding a room through a process like this regardless of where you're starting from.
The class is open to all ages, so it works as a solo outing or something to do with kids. All the supplies are provided, which means you don't have to bring a thing—you just show up and get to work. By the end of the two hours, you'll have a set of cards you actually made yourself, rather than something you picked up at a store.
