30-minute guided tour led by a museum docent that invites questions and personal readings of the Columbus Museum of Art's collection and exhibitions.
The Columbus Museum of Art is running its Highlights Tour on Friday, October 30, from 1:00 to 1:30 PM. It's a 30-minute guided walk led by a museum docent, and it's built around close looking and conversation rather than a straight lecture. You're invited to ask questions and offer your own readings, and the docent threads those perspectives into the tour as you go. It's a drop-in session, and it's included with admission.
The tour pulls from the museum's permanent collection and its special exhibitions. The galleries hold late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century American and European modern works, and the museum houses the world's largest collections by local artists Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson, Elijah Pierce, and George Bellows. Alongside those, you'll find The Photo League and the Philip and Suzanne Schiller Collection of American Social Commentary Art. Contemporary art, folk art, glass, and photography also feature, and the JPMorgan Chase Center for Creativity adds galleries designed to stimulate curiosity.

The museum positions itself as a community hub bent on removing barriers between the public and its collection, and the tour is part of that effort. Disability access strategies are in place, and the welcome extends to all ages. If you're not free on the 30th, the tour runs every second Friday of the month, with the next one following on Friday, December 18. It's always 1:00 to 1:30 PM at the Columbus Museum of Art, 480 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215.
